German Triple Run - the idea A few years ago... two men met. Ralph and Martin. They had one similar interest: BSA and Triumph triples from 68 - 76. Ralph who bought his T160 as new in 1976 (now a real monster with Norman Hyde 1000cc kit) found a lot of know how in triples and made contacts to many people interested in triples. By the way he got an early T150T. And he found me, Martin. I’m in contact with triples since 1995 and likes the beautyful T150’s in US layout. One of my two is a real roadgoing bike with some special parts. Ralph told me his dream to ride with a few more triple riders (there are not so many in Germany, he thought...) in a line. I had experience with brit bike meetings, with my friends I made three of them under the flag of the german Classic British Bike Club with up to 130 guests. I planned a similar thing in my new town in teutoburg forest, when my wife became pregnant... I swear, I was only in my workshop to strip and reassemble my Triumph bikes... So I decided to make a smaller event. The idea of the german triple run was born. We expected 10 guests and didn’t know, that there would be more than 40 people on 27 old british triples. There was a lot of work to do, but we loved it and now... we did it again! The 2nd German Triple Run started August 1st to August 3rd 2008 in Weertzen. There we have had more visitors from UK and two more nations at all. 2007 we’ve had visitors from Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom and from Finland. 2008 there were visitors from Germany, Netherland, UK, Denmark and Suisse. It was a very successful meeting and now there will be the 3rd German Triple Run in 2009. It’s a kind of jubilee. The A75 is a 3, the Trident is a 3 and the GTR becomes 3 too! So visit us from July 31st to August 2nd and enjoy Triples in Teutonia. We promise you one more unique event! Martin & Ralph
